How Does BioLiNE® Help Cereal Production?
(Wheat, oats, barley, rye, sorghum, quinoa, buckwheat, and millet)
Our BioLiNE® technology transports and assimilates nutrients, and other plant beneficial ingredients more efficiently. BioLiNE® products enhance crop health through their entire life-cycle from seeding to harvest. The BioLiNE® products supply electrolytes and establish electrochemical balance in plants. The result is rapid and even emergence with increased natural defenses against stress. BioLiNE® technology can be applied at various stages in the development of cereal crops including:
- At planting: use as a seed coat, impregnated on dry fertilizers, or tank mixed with liquid fertilizer for in-furrow or side-dress applications
- Stage 4 to 6: tank mixed with herbicide or other nutrient inputs
- Stage 9 to 10: tank mixed with fungicide or other nutrient inputs
- Stage 10 to 11: tank mixed with fungicide or other nutrient inputs

Trial Results
Winter Wheat Germination
Winter wheat seeds were used to demonstrate the positive effects BioLiNE® has on early and even emergence. Thirty seeds for each treatment were treated with the same amount of water and sunlight. However, the dish treated with BioLiNE® Gold shows more evenly developed wheat compared to the control for the same growth period.
2021 Drought Season
This picture shows two Alberta dryland barley fields. The one on the left is located near Drumheller, Alberta in the heart of the 2021 drought area. The one on the right is located in the Hussar area of Alberta. BioLiNE® Gold was an ongoing tool relied on by both growers last season to mange their crops. The crop on the left was treated twice with BioLiNE® Gold and even though the crop was thinner than most years, it held-up in the face of drought stress. The grower on the right used BioLiNE® on every crop acre on this farm and showed extra tillering and advanced head development on his cereal crop compared to other fields.
Drought Stress Amelioration Wintering Hills Colony 2021
Average wheat yield for the Southern Alberta in 2020 was 53.6 bu/acre. Due to an intense drought year in 2021, this average decreased to 17.8 bu/acre (33% yield) (Alberta Crop Report). With application of BioLiNE® Gold over 6 different farms in the Wintering Hills Colony, the average wheat yield increased to 33.4 bu/acre, (62% yield compared to 2020 data and 87.9% increase over county average in 2021).
Average barley yield for the Southern Alberta in 2020 was 73.9 bu/acre. Due to an intense drought year in 2021, this average decreased to 20.5 bu/acre (28% yield) (Alberta Crop Report). With application of BioLiNE® Gold over 5 different farms in the Wintering Hills Colony, the average wheat yield increased to 45.6 bu/acre, (62% yield compared to 2020 data and 122.4% increase over county average in 2021).
Using BioLiNE® with Seed Treatment – Western Canada 2020
Midland Colony (Taber, AB): Wheat emerged two days earlier with BioLiNE® Gold treated seeds versus control. Seed treatment coverage was improved by BioLiNE Gold® in the treatment mix.
Todd Duke (Estevan, SK): Wheat treated® with BioLiNE emerged early and this effect carried through the life of the crop resulting in 5 bu/ac yield increase over control.
