Raised on a farm in Southwest Middlesex County, Ontario, I graduated from Ridgetown College of Agricultural Technology in 1971. I began my 45-plus year career in the Canadian and U.S. agricultural community with United Cooperative in 1971. In 1976 I joined Scotch Fertilizers as a Manager. In 1981, I started a Crop Management company called Competitive Edge, based in Southwestern Ontario that grew to service 48,000 acres. In the mid-80s, I participated on the development committee for Stoller USA. It was during this association that CanGrow was started by a local group of farmers. I was instrumental in the product development and marketing of this company. I purchased CanGrow in 1999 and grew it into a stable and profitable business with a track record of providing superior product and services to our customers. In 2016, I was introduced to Mohammad Rahbari, and his innovative process for production of fulvic acid. Motivated by his energy and enthusiastic about the process, I incorporated Bioline Corp. with the goal of bringing superior quality bio-stimulants to market using his innovation.

I have been managing the development and commercialization of innovations for more than 13 years. I graduated from Western University with a Bachelors (2001) and Masters (2005) in Chemical Engineering. Immediately after the completion of my Masters Degree, Dr. Zhu and I co-founded the Particle Technology Research Centre (PTRC) at Western University. For the next five years I served as the General Manager for the Centre. In 2008, I founded CENNATEK, a technology development company with a focus on innovations in bio-fuels and bio-products. In 2010, I joined the executive team at Entropex, a N.A. leading plastics recycling company as the Director of Technology Development. I managed the development, scale-up and implementation of a three-year, $34 million innovation. In 2014, I joined my team at CENNATEK on a full-time basis and raised $2 million towards the first prototype of our BioLiNE process in partnership with Highline Mushrooms. In 2016, I partnered with Ray McDonald in establishing BioLiNE Corp. with the objective to bring the BioLiNE technology to market. Today, I am leading an enthusiastic research team to innovate and improve our process, our products and the applications of our technology. Director, Product Innovation & Market Development
I chose to join the BioLiNE team after retiring from my role at Stoller International. My 30-year career includes extensive experience working directly with renowned researchers to help them understand how to practically apply their discoveries at a grower level. As the company’s Director of Product Innovation & Market Development, I will focus on identifying market needs at the grower and distribution level. My success has come from my ability to leverage my knowledge of plant physiology, biochemistry, and nutrient interactions to help bridge the scientist to farmer gap. BioLiNE’s innovative approach of feeding plants on a cellular level is the way of the future. I am looking forward to applying my expertise to BioLiNE’s unique technology because I understands the potential benefits of this breakthrough technology to improve the quality and quantity of food grown by farmers. Toward the end of my career, I value the opportunity to work on sustainable agriculture innovations that will last well beyond my tenure. The technology that BioLiNE is developing is very positive for humanity and I take pride in having a part in that process.

I graduated with my BSc (1973) and my MSc (1975) in Biology & Chemistry from the University of Mississippi. After graduation, I moved to Greenville, MS, and founded McRight Soil Testing, Inc. I was involved in introducing innovations to agriculture, growing our agronomy services, and developing our own products for growers. We pioneered the introduction of the concepts of biostimulants to our growers and by 1998, our products and formulations had done so well with growers that we changed our business model and converted from a retail service provider to a wholesale operation. Today, we operate as McRight Services, LLC and all products are labeled under the DeltAg Formulations name brand. Our product line is registered and distributed in forty-eight (48) states, Canada and several other countries overseas. At our location in Greenville we formulate, manufacture, label, package and ship all of the DeltAg products to our Distributors. We also provide product and crop nutrition training seminars annually to our dealers. These seminars include educational information on the fourteen DeltAg products along with basic crop nutrition.

I am a veteran in the fluid fertilizer industry with more than thirty-years of experience serving in leadership roles with some of the most innovative fertilizer companies. I joined the BioLiNE team as the Business Development Manager, because I was impressed by the technology, and the potential opportunities it presented to formulators, retailers, and ultimately farmers. Throughout my due diligence I was impressed by the caliber of research, the focus on science, and the technical capacity of the BioLiNE team. Some of the highlights of my career include serving as the Director of Discovery & Innovation after serving as National Sales Director for Brandt Consolidated, Inc. Prior to joining Brandt, I was the Vice-President of Plant Nutrition at Loveland Industries (UAP), and the Vice-President of Environment and Agronomy at the J.R. Simplot Company. I attained my Ph.D. in small grains pathology and physiology from the University of Stirling, and a B.Sc. in Agricultural Botany from the University of Leeds. I moved from England to America in 1987 to serve as the Director of the Fluid Fertilizer Foundation and Vice-President of the National Fertilizer Solutions Association (NFSA). I served as Board Chair and still serve on the Board of Directors of the Fluid Fertilizer Foundation. I received the prestigious Fluid Fellow Award in 2012. Jeff Rigney
Director of Sports and Specialty Division
I began my career in the professional fertilizer industry back in 1997, hired by a company based in Quebec to represent their full line of dry blended, liquid fertilizers and amendments to golf courses and sports fields of Ontario. I was fortunate enough to have not only excellent training from people in the top of their field but was also able early in my career to have education from Guelph and Cornell Universities. With my knowledge, I created my own line of fertilizers under my own trademark, ProGrow. After being given a project by a private course in Toronto, regarding how to cleanup and treat the property’s irrigation water, I was introduced to Ray McDonald and CanGrow. Ray introduced me to his chemistry and knowledge, as well as to Stoller and Delta Ag, where I was able to expand my business in this area around the world, working with some large golf course construction companies such as the Nicklaus Golf International, and the Lyle Anderson Group. I have also expanded to drip and micro irrigation in Botanical gardens, irrigation for greenhouse ornamentals in the Phoenix valley and Palm desert California and overhead boom irrigation to greenhouses for vegetables and flowers in the same area. It is with great enthusiasm that I am able to become part of a dynamic group of people that have a tremendous amount of knowledge in growing, with environmental practices in mind for decades to come.
